Day 25

Day 25 — Both adults feeding regularly; 5 chicks visible in single clip

Day 25 — Both adults feeding regularly; 5 chicks visible in single clip

Overnight, the female brooded steadily in infrared. Brief absences occurred at 00:21, 00:35–00:41, and several other short gaps through ~02:30; chicks are visible huddling in the cup during each. She returns within a minute or two in each case. At 01:53, she shifts position and chicks are briefly visible beneath her.

Gaping behavior begins appearing in pre-dawn clips at 03:49. By 05:54–05:55, four chicks are visible gaping in consecutive clips without an adult present. The first confirmed feeding event is at 06:04 (female, three chicks visible). A male arrives at 06:13 and leans into the cup with multiple chicks gaping; he returns at 06:39 for two consecutive feeding clips. Both adults continue making feeding visits at intervals ranging from roughly 15 to 60 minutes through the rest of the day. The male is confirmed at the nest on more than fifteen separate occasions; the female makes additional visits and also broods in the cup for stretches of varying length between feedings.

Chicks are consistently described in daytime clips as feathered or partially feathered. The highest count in a single clip is 5, recorded at 13:42 with the male present and all five gaping. The nest cup is noted as visibly soiled with white droppings around the rim beginning around 07:14 and remarked on in multiple subsequent clips through the afternoon.

The female settles in for the night around 20:35–20:45 and broods continuously through the end of the record, with occasional brief gaps where chicks are visible unattended. At 22:53, one clip describes two adult-sized birds occupying the nest cup simultaneously — the only such instance in today’s data.

Pipeline: No infrastructure changes this day.
